Stella Maris Academy is established as a nonprofit, Washington State approved, Independent Private School, founded to ensure that children have the opportunity to receive a Traditional Roman Catholic education and provide homeschool extension support for parents whose students enroll part-time. The school does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, or national/ethnic origin.

Registration packets can be obtained by contacting the Administrator using this form.  Stella Maris Academy reserves the right to administer a placement test before final grade placement is granted. Due to limited special education facilities and resources, Stella Maris Academy reserves the right to deny admission to students with severe learning, emotional, or behavioral handicaps.

Traditional Roman Catholic religious instruction is an integral part of the education offered at Stella Maris Academy. Collaboration is expected between the student's family and the school, and students are required to attend school every day that it is in session. The student may be required to repeat their grade if there are prolonged absences.

The Curriculum includes Religion, English Grammar, Mathematics, Reading and Literature, Writing, Spelling, Phonics, History, Social Studies, Science and Nature Study, Health, Art and Art Appreciation, Penmanship, Crafts, Music, and occupational education.

Homework assignments are designed to reinforce knowledge, instill a sense of responsibility, and encourage time management and independent study habits on the part of the students.

Stella Maris Academy applies principles of Traditional Catholic Education in disciplining its students. Our teachers aim to demonstrate kindness, patience, and charity in their personal contact with the students.  The school
does not employ corporal punishment, but true charity sometimes obliges correction and even punishment, such as restriction of activities and privileges, extra study, and writing out "lines".  Students may be suspended or expelled from the school if grave infractions are committed.

Students attending Stella Maris Academy are required to wear the School Uniform.

* In addition to daily Grade
1 through 12 curricula, Stella Maris Academy offers part-time, homeschool extension programs of two to four days per week for students who are not able to attend full-time. This enables parents to fulfill the Washington State mandated requirement that homeschool students receive contact hours of instruction with a State-certified teacher.

* School closings due to inclement weather will follow the closures of the Edmonds, Washington, School District.
